The Role
As a Communications Specialist, you will play a crucial role in shaping our corporate narrative, engaging with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring that our messaging is consistent and impactful across various platforms. You will collaborate with teams across the organization, harnessing the power of strategic communications to drive our initiatives and strengthen our brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement communication strategies that align with Amazon's objectives and brand values.
- Draft and edit content for press releases, newsletters, and website updates to ensure clarity and engagement.
- Manage our social media strategy, including content creation and community engagement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote initiatives and ensure consistent messaging.
- Conduct media outreach and foster relationships with key press contacts in the Rhode Island area.
- Monitor media coverage and social media conversations to identify trends and areas for engagement.
- Organize and execute special events, both virtual and in-person, to enhance community relations.
- Analyze communication metrics and feedback to refine strategies and improve effectiveness.
- Support crisis communication efforts by developing timely and targeted messaging.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms and content management systems.
- Experience with media relations and a track record of successful press outreach.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Passion for technology and a strong understanding of Amazon’s business model.
- Familiarity with SEO principles and online communication strategies is a plus.
